Spooky Calgary Halloween Events

Posted by Ryan MacDonald on Monday, November 3rd, 2014 at 7:21am.

When it comes to all things spooky, there is no shortage of awesome events going on this Halloween in Calgary. Here is a list of some of the most fun and terrifying things to do for Halloween:

Halloween events in Calgary Alberta

This annual spookfest is now held at Stampede Park, which means more room which means more ways to be scared! You'll now find multiple haunted houses such as the Madhouse, Bates Motel and the new Walking with the Dead area. You can also get into some zombie paintball and try to keep back the undead hordes. You can check out ScreamFest on Friday or Saturday night at the Grandstand Building. Note: This is not a kid-friendly event as it is scary.

Haunted Rocky Ridge Home

Since 1987, the home at 222 Rocky Ridge Bay NW has turned into one of Calgary's scary Halloween traditions. Start with the carnival in front of the house and then go in - if you dare! Volunteers run this annual event that goes from 6-10 pm. This is not suitable for young children.

Halloween Fever Fright Night

On all Hallow's Eve, head down to Symons Valley Ranch Farmers' Market and see how this landmark gets turned into one of the more horrifying Halloween scenes in Calgary. Head into the Ghost Town courtyard and part in the wine bar pub crawl, make your way down the Stairway to Hell, all the while trying to avoid the crazy fever that makes those living in the home act rather strangely. Note: This event ends at 9 pm. This is also not recommended for kids under 10.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

A longstanding Halloween tradition includes dressing up like transvestite from transsexual Transylvania for this 1975 cult classic. You can take part at the National on 10 on Oct. 31, starting at 8 pm. In addition, there is a Clue Party as well as a Big Lebowski bash.

Jailhouse Halloween

This annual Halloween party is coming back to the Roadhouse as the inmates are taking over again. Best costume gets a great prize. The party starts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the Roadhouse. Tickets cost $10

Dance of the Dead

Dance like the dead are watching at The Pint this Friday for Halloween! It promises to be one of the most ghastly parties in town and you can enjoy all kinds of drink specials. This ghoulish bash starts at 8 pm. It costs $10 for a ticket.

Vampire's Revenge

Check out this Skin Parties Canada bash at the Executive Hotel. This After Dark sexy Halloween Party features "quality over quantity". This party is on Saturday, Nov. 1 with tickets costs $80 per couple and $15 for single females. It starts at 9 pm.
