The Calgary Real Estate Board just released some sunny stats for the Calgary real estate market. Increases in sales and home prices means we're entering the spring market with a new found optimism.
Total Sales for the city of Calgary in February/2012 were 1,737 - an increase of 7.02% from the same time last year.
The Average Price for Calgary real estate increased 2.93%.
When you consider Daily Activity, it appears that once February came around, people got in shopping mode and started buying. The Calgary market realized a 28.57% increase in daily sales from February 24 to March 1/2012, compared to the same time last year.
Although condo sales have decreased about -11.74%, townhouses have increased by about the same amount, and single-family homes by almost 11%. It seems that buyers are starting to commit to those larger homes.
New listings were down slightly, but hopefully this boost in the market will be enough to convince prospective sellers to get off that fence and list their homes.
We'd love to help you with your home sale, or purchase. If you've been considering selling, but you're not sure, we'll be happy to give you a free home evaluation, or answer any questions you may have. Feel free to email or call Ryan or Sheri at 403.519.9102 for a prompt reply.
