The Seton facility will be a state-of-the-art centre measuring 330,000 sq. ft and costing some $193 million. It will feature two skating rinks, a 50m, 10 lane competition pool, a leisure pool, water park, dive tank, surfing simulator, and gymnasiums (for courts sports like basketball, badminton and volleyball), a fitness centre, and running/walking track. Alberta Government Unveils details on new Construction
The Alberta government announced on Feb. 10, 2014 it would be building six new public schools in Calgary, along with one new francophone and three new Catholic schools. One of those Catholic schools will be a southeast high school, but the community hasn't been announced yet. These new facilities will be in some of Calgary's faster growing communities like Cranston, Auburn Bay, and McKenzie Towne.
The new construction will see seven new schools built in the south, with northwest Calgary getting three new schools.
